The buggy got to make maiden voyage this week!!!!!!!{MONDAY} Had to make some changes on pulleys to pump. The steering seemed to be stiff and I couldn't speed steer w/ one hand by rolling wheel in palm. Went to bigger crank pulley and it helped 10-15% more, but not to what I thought it should! The only thing else that I can think of causing the drag on steering would be the brass lined steel tubular weld on steer shaft sleeve. Any way I discuss this later in another thread. Here are some pics after getting it out of shop for the first time.
Sorry this one is so dark. It was taken at 6;45 monday morning!

Looks good! I have looked at how to mount my hi-lift jack on the buggy. Never needed so far but you never know when you might. I'm liking that body going to do mine soon for sure.

We got to go on a three hour shake down run this past saturday at a small local place called Dick's Creek in Unicoi TN. It wasn't very challenging but was enough to brake the bracket to my power steering box! Thank goodness for carrying a ratchet strap! --when mounting the steer box, I had cut half way thru the bracket to make it fold exactly where I wanted it to and forgot to weld the cut line up --OOPS! The good thing was that no mater what size the object you were running over, you could not feel it in the steering wheel-even with eyes closed! I sometimes do that    [scared]  Had a funny noise coming out of trans when changing gears [sound like a bearing but not a throwout bearing sound!], that was not there in the other buggy and I didnt take eng off of trans. My IDF"s[44"s] were clogging idle jets and timing was a touch to high. The steer bracket was fixed on monday and will work on the others soon. Here are a couple pics of the ride. A friend, Rick, who is new to buggys, went with us for his first outing with other buggys. He likes the mud!
This is a pic of my buggy with the doors on and the windows down.

Rick -plowing a large mud hole!

Mike -the passenger of Rick's little red buggy -got a spot of mud on him!

Clean up was a breeze at the creek.

Rick also found a spot of mud on him as well!

Nice pics!! Awesome to hear you finally got to ride your new buggy!! Looks very nice! Them doors and windows would be the shiznit on those rainy rides. (Which is EVERY friggin ride I been on this year  ).

I would've drove ten miles of blacktop if I had to, to get around that mud-hole!! DAMN.

That dude is probably still sprayin that buggy out !!

Nice! i love the plastic. that is what i used. i will never use anything else. it doesn't crack in the winter. it doesn't rattle. if it scratches, it stays the same color.
here is a link. im sure there are tons of guys locally.

Thanks for all the great replys! It has been what seams a really long time building the buggy{buggy 140 hrs--doors 40hrs} ---still have a few things I would like to do--that will come with time. It didnt bother me in the least bit toget it muddy that time! The day I rolled it out of the shop was when I didnt like it to well! Had to clean it up to finish it!!!! Now I am ready to try and get up with some of you on here and ride---I just pray the gas prices will keep going up so we can afford to ride more!
