I am kicking around a couple ideas to help my buggy climb. They both include a longer wheel base. Right now my wb is 93". Pretty short I think. Can you tell me what the wb is on some of your buggies? And what you like or dislike about it. I am trying to figure out how long is to long.
Thanks
Dean

Personally I would not go over 100" WB if your going to trail ride. Even at 100" tight trails can be tricky to manuver thru. Power steering would be a great help on longer wheel bases so I would consider that if you go longer. I know thats what Im doing on my new Buggy and its only 98".

106 here cutting brakes are a must on tight trails with a little bit of speed and no worries.

Dean mine is 100-102. i havn't checked it since i put ext. arms on the front. But length is not as important as most think. Its all about suspention, balance, and low center of gravity. I know alot of short buggies that climb good. Most guys at D and K are under 100.Look at Smitys.

Where do you measure the wheel base from? From center of wheel to center of wheel, or total length of frame?

I'm at 90" . I've had the same thoughts as you, My front end is usually aimed at the sky on some of the steeper hills & I have an 8000lb winch infront. I'm not sure what to do.
