Larry, I dunno who told you that, but me and the guys that rode 4-wheelers down there the first time I went down there showed us the way around almost like a tour and they did a great job and they were locals called the Ridge Runners and they took us to the bald knob.
The bald knob is same as helicoptor pad or lookout. I did not maen they told us to stay off the baldknob or the trail toit, I meant they told us to stay off the grassy banks on the high side of that trail.
It was the Ridge runners that told me that when I emailed them before I went there the first time.
