I'm new at this so bear with me. I was wondering what size turbo some others were using and what kind of boost levels they were at.I was also wondering about your thoughts were on fuel injection. I'm running a 1915 with a web 110cam and am using a t3/t4 60 trim compressor and .48turbine at 10 pounds. I would love the opertunity to eat a v8. Once i learn how to post pics i will post one.

Fuel injection is the way to go. It's just dialing it in that is the bitch. You have the perfect set up for a Holley Pro-Jection or Edelbrock FI. I have a Tims System FI and have to set 5 parameters. If you go with the Holley Pro-Jection 2di, I think closed loop system it's programed with a computer and you can set your fuel curves and change them with ease. Bert from this site has this setup and I have seen the performance first hand. WOW! So needless to say I've been looking for this system to put on mine. Once you get it setup I think you should have no problem smoking V8's

with the holley projection what do you do with the coolant temp sensor and does the map sensor register boost pressure. Or is this something you have to adjust.I just don't want to run out of fuel map after the boost starts. If anyone can provide any info that would be great.

The man to talk to is Bert. He is the one with a turbo with Holley ProJection.

I have been looking into the turbo setup for my little 1915. Leatherneck that visits here has the set up I am looking at copying. He's a great friend of mine and has tons of power. My only question is the type of riding we do from one hill to the next not getting out of second gear will a turbo be worth while? Most the boost doesn't come on until 3000RPM or so and I doubt that I hit that unless I am playing on a hill or something.

Thanks

you can actually use a smaller turbo to make more boost at the bottom end. You just don't want to go too small or you will just choke the motor down. Ive seen a turbo off a Mitsubishi 3000 gt do pretty well at lower rpms. Garret also has a sweet variable velocity turbine that works very well for making max boost at lower rpm.

While I am new to this site and VW's in general, I have been in and around turbo EFI 2.3s for quite awhile now. (I am not an expert by any means!)

I am sure most of you already know, but just incase: I think Megasquirt would be a great option for any of you wanting to convert to EFI on the cheap. While there is a steep learning curve, it is a fully funtional Fuel Management Unit.
WWW.diyautotune.com is a great place for info and EFI kits.
I dont know about specific VW turbo info, but if anyone has any questions I will try to help.

Turboford.net is a great place for turbo info.

If this post is out-of-line, let me know and I will pull it.

Thanks

Dave
