I have a roughly 2000 cc type 4 motor, maybe a little more, with dual 45mm dells on it. Can't get it to idle and pops at lower rpm. Wondering if carbs are too big for motor or if I have some wrong jets in it? Hoping someone could tell me what a good starting point is for these things as far as jetting goes, or some other helpful advice. Right now the buggy is in my buddies garage but some of the info is:

Main jet 162
Air correction jet 200
Idle jet 55mm

I would have to say you need a bigger idle jet call cb performance they specialize in dells and could tell you what size and sell them to you.

You need about 65-70 idle jets for them to run correctly on a 2.0L.

all the info is greatly appreciated. I will call cb performance tomorrow and see what they think. Also other info about motor is:

Heads 44x38 ported FAT heads
96mm bore
71mm stroke
hyd. lifters
compression ratio 8.5-1
crank and cam are supposed to be high performance FAT , but did not split case.

OH YEAH you need bigger jets maybe some accelerator pump jets, main jets, and venturis but they should be able to tell ya at cb performance.I ran a 1915 and the 55 idles were perfect with 40x39 valves so yours definitely needs more fuel through the whole rpm range.

I called CB performance today and no help at all. Found a place called

aircooledengineering.com in Utah

Talked to the CARB GUY, DAVE.

Super nice guy that knows his SH T about carbs.
In case anybody cares what he came up with for me was you guys were right. He said a 65mm Idle jet was the smallest he would go with and all the other jets seemed to be right. If anyone needs info on Solex,Weber,or Delorto carbs I would highly recommend this company and DAVE the CARB GUY!!!!
