Windrock is coming soon. We really need more help with hill cutting and buggy strapping. If you can try to make plans to be there early Friday. I understand there may be a meal in it for you.

First of all let me say WELCOME TO Coal Creek ( AKA WINDROCK ) !! We have been looking forward to hosting this event for Woods Buggy. There will be free pizza Friday night for all of those that help with the hills. Should have lots of spectators,so everyone come on out and put on a show for them. You can drive your family car right to the event area, the Snack Shack will have food & drinks available, We have our Mt. Rescue team ready.Huge parking area for your trucks and traliors, paved road to the area, check out our web site for camping info, tents,RV's,cabins, 2 large bathouses.P.S. they have changed the no alcohol rule @ the campground, but please keep it in a koozie, and act like a adult should ?? please ! as we have children and ladies present. Also have a buggy shop within 10 miles for parts ( Larry's Speed Shop) and motels & resturants in Oak Ridge ( about 10 miles ).Racing fuel about 4 miles, gas about a mile.Any other questions give us a call 865-435-1251. We have 72,000 acres and over 250 miles of trails. If anyone is interested we can take you on a late evening trail ride Friday or Saturday or both. Again we are looking forward to seeing you!
Thanks Lady Bug

Hey LadyBug,

Looking forward to the event.. WindRock has some of the best trails on the east coast. You can ride for hours and never hit the same trail twice. I also recommend to check out the windmills on top of the mountain. They are very cool to see and well worth the trip.

As for the Rocks, do not let the name "WindRock" deter anyone. The trails and hills are not that Rocky. Nowhere near as Rocky as Golden Mountain.

See you in a few weeks
Dan

does anybody know anything about this area such as things somebody can do thats not going to the event?

the reason im asking is my wife is kinda wanting to go to the pigeon forge area aka the smoky's for a few days the week before or after the hill climb and some of the inlaws are wanting to tag along also but im trying to work it so i can make it to the event since its only about 1 1/2 hours away from pigeon forge and need something for them to do while im playing in the woods.

yeah i know theres plenty in pigeon forge to do but i wandering about the area around windrock just for a day or two to keep from having to go to pigeon forge and then to windrock and back to pigeon forge since its an hour and a half drive between the 2 and its like 5 1/2 hours to pigeon forge from where i live.

also i just didnt want to be running back and forth if i could work around it and paying for a room in 2 different places at the same time cause i was kinda wanting to be at windrock friday and saturday if possible

but im also kinda worried about my buggy just sitting around at a condo in pigeon forge all week while we out and about if they will even let me do that or even have somewhere to park the trailer

I spoke with WindRock and they are expecting some locals to compete and there is usually a big crowd since the park is so big..

Anyone that is going to the Windrock event that has room I need Jays buggy brought to me (I can meet anyone in Chattanooga) or it took to London KY to Chuck Jones, or to D&K off road park. It is getting closer to being finished but still needs some pipe work done to it. (Darrell is going to do that to it) If you can help let me know Thanks Bruce.

If the buggy is on a trailer, I can bring it back to you. I will not be bringing my buggy to windrock so I can tow jays buggy back and drop it off at your house.

Don't forget to try to be there Friday to cut the hills . I intend to be there before lunchtime. Those cutting the hills get to help pick the hills and help design the hills.

would a small one handed chainsaw be allowed or beneficial to cutting the hills or would it be better to just use the hand saws and stuff like theyve been using? if so i got a pretty good one over at a buddys house i could get the chain sharpened on and tuned up and maybe send it by somebody else if im not gonna be there early enough on friday? just an suggestion/offer

Don't forget FREE PIZZA for those that show up to help cut the hills. We will have 2 or 3 chainsaws. Just need some people to help use them.Looks like the weather may cool down a little. If everyone shows up as promised we should have one of the largest spectator crowds yet!! so come on and lets put on a show for everyone!!!
Thanks Lady Bug
