I am thinkin about buyin the SCAT Econo engine kit it comes with everything but a few odds and ends for $730, Ive looked around and priced things all individually and It came out to about $1000 so Definitly looks good price wise heres a link to what im talkin about I'll be gettin the 1915 kit. J Man I like Bugpack always have ,,,Just had real good luck with it over the years .But I have friends that believe in nothing but Scat .I also ran Scat stuff but it was always in V8 .So in answering your question Just go to stuff for sale and get that motor/Tranny combo off Racebuggy ,it's a good deal

I have never heard anything bad about Scat. Most people just find a brand they can trust and stay with it. I personally prefer CB Performance. My only suggestion is to stay away from anything that says EMPI.

I wish i could get that off of racebugg! But Ill end up with a 1915& a 6rib for around 1400 bucks Thanks for the info guys Im juss wonderinf if anyone is gonna have a horror story most ppl have told me its decent stuff, But asking a question on here is where the true answers are found haha

Scat produces some of the best parts you can buy.If you can afford to buy thier products,do it!!!

That kit has a cast crank in it.
That's why it's cheap.
VW never used a cast crank in any air cooled engine except maybe the late Mexican beetles.
