personally I'm more interested in the T trailer due to the lighter weight - I'll be pulling with a volvo 850 sedan so the lighter the better.

So far as easy loading, what about a strap winch on the front of the trailer like for a boat? The roller sounds like a good idea too, but I'd worry about ripping it off out in the woods (?)

If you use a roller and have the rear tires sitting on a flat deck they load easly. I have never riped off one of my sliders. I have built a h trailer that was just as light as a T trailer.

If i remember correctly when i got my old camper trailer weighed to tag it (in ohio) as a homebuilt unit it only weighed in at 410 pounds, i dont think that that is too heavy and thats before i ripped the old camper floor off along with some other stuff that was hanging on it from its life as a camper and went to two 2x8x12 boards for each side, i really dont consider the recently added rear bumper and ramps a hinderance since they are behind the axle therefore reducing tounge weight

mine only has 1 axle and has no springs as are 3 or 4 more that i know of around here and they all pull just fine, however your buggy is a little heavier than ours but as long as you have tires that can handle the load and you dont exceed the capacity of the axle you use then i would think 1 axle would be fine, and as far as springs go, i guess its just a matter of personal preferance but i have wondered if springs made a difference or not myself

This is my buggy trailer.
No springs, house trailer axle.
I've added flip down ramps since this was picture taken.
Pulls great with buggy on board, little rough empty........ 8)

I intend to use VW bus/Vanagon front spindle and tires,,,because I have several,,,do yall think single axles would carry my buggy OK?

If you strap across the buggy tires, not the buggy frame, your buggy's suspension will act as the trailer's suspension. I've always thought vans were rated as a 1 ton chassis, so you should be fine.

Check you bearings regular. I had beetle ones on my trailer and that is what went out going to Curts hill climb that time.

The bus bearings are larger
