I’m not knocking the front end at all but where do you ride? If that was on my car it would be smashed or bent to hell in 1 weekend. I’ve bent 3 front beams in one season with a bumper, and that doesn’t look like you could add a bumper to protect it.

Like I said I’m not knocking it, just wondering what you plan to protect it from trees or rocks.

How much wheel travel do you get out of the front end?

You're not wrong, one good hit and the tie-rods are toast. The plan is the same as with the rear... don't hit things

I've got an idea for a bump-bar, but it probably won't happen anytime soon.

I estimate the travel at about 12-14 inches. Haven't measured yet.

I never plan to hit anything, shit just jumps in front of me all the time. Especially late at night.

From what I see, at the wheels it should be every bit as strong as a standard setup. But it needs a bumper badly for any life expectancy. Could make a bumper that comes below and above the a-arms. But, with the central mounting of the heims it will be difficult.

First thing I would do is what guys are doing to vunirable parts of framework like tree bars and the rear of the frame. Weld angle iron down the length of it. It will drasticly effect the durability.

I'm not a fan of the front end either. Looks cool But I would be scared of it in the woods

Almost done.

Few things to finish before I can take it out for a spin. The Bus starter I have is really weak and won't spin the motor fast enough to start. Ordered a high-torque starter which should be here this week.

I'm taking the car to a buddy tomorrow to weld on the upper shock bosses, and to build me some radiator pipes. The bad news is we're supposed to get a ridiculous amount of show tonight, and that will complicate the process of moving it. I set it up in the garage on my car dolly, we'll see how tomorrow goes.

Still needs and exhaust and a steering shaft. Need to trim the tie-rods to get rid of that wicked toe-out.

My first test drive might be in the snow.

Thanks. That's the one spot in my backyard I can open it up a bit. Getting started on my skid plates and bumper soon so I can go play in the woods with the big kids.

that looks sweet, one thing i do like about the setup is that it doesnt destroy the integrity of the chassis but is merely a bolt on..... if you should happen to destroy it in the woods it looks like it would be a matter of bolting up the old beam to get you rolling again until you could get replacement parts or rebuild it. Nice ride man
