I've always heard full circle is not necessary until you get up to 90 mm stroke due to flexing between main and rod journals...or somestuff. I know Gene Berg thought fullcircle was crap. http://www.geneberg.com/cat.php?cPath=4_80. But this was a long time ago, with different metallurgy. Besides I dont think ol' Gene ( may he R. I. P.) spent much time in the woods either.
Most 90 stroke motors I see are full circle, and they take some serious reaming for many years.

Bob at DeMello cranks said when he was developing the full circle crank, Lloyd Mosher (Little Giant Killer) found the full circle crank made more power. Using a T-4 center main stiffens the crank even more.
