Anyone know where the best place is to get the plate setup to convert a stock torsion over to coil over? Just bought me a set of shocks today want to try and get something in the mail. Also any thoughts on the stainless ones I can't see them being as strong as a steel set just because of the materials used but they sure look good. I have also noticed that some offer chromoly teflon heims and others just steel hardened ones.

The best ones I have seen and also have are from Eagle Performance.

I run a set of the Eagle ones, the only thing I wish they have about them is to be a little thicker, they are starting to bend where the heim joint goes on and had to take them off and beef them up a little, I wish I had a set like Madmike's got, I am currently on the drawing board to get a set made like that though.

To the guys running the eagle setup. What is the purpose of the bend in the spring plate for? I know most I have seen just appear to be straight. Just curious

Madmike
Just how busy is this guy because that is a really nice setup? Care to let me know what a pair of those cost if I could get him to fab a set. No sense in getting in a hurry and missing out on a very nice looking piece. I can stand a few more torsion rides

The off set is to have the heim plate run parallel with the spring plate on the arm.

I am real busy this time of year as always. Can't even think of doing anymore untill well after Memorial Day weekend.
If you can hold out for a couple of months I'll put a couple of sets together.

I bought the cheep ones but, my wallet did n't think so. Spring plate and hiem joint mount did not alian. So I modified the spring plate. Now however, I'm going to restore the spring plate to what it was and cut up the hiem joint plate and mount it inside the end of the torsion tube or move the the hiem joint pivot piont forward. That way the pivot axis will stay at 7*, Like the trailing arm axis is. Otherwise you will have premature wear and brakage due to mis alianed angles.

Well a couple months isn't bad for a quality piece, I have waited longer for way less. I can wait to do the changeover just make sure one of the next setups u make is for me. There are plenty of things I am gonna do to the buggy in the meantime to keep me occupied
