I DID THE SAME TEST AND CAME UP WITH 51.4 ON THE CUT 8 PLY AND THEN I WEIGHED A UNCUT 4PLY AND IT WAS 51LB. SO CUT MORE THE LIGHTER THE BETTER......AND TO HELP MAKE UP THE DIFF I LIGHTED THE ROTORS AND JOINTS

to bad scrap rubber isnt paying much.

It makes some great kindlin for the wood stove in the shop!! Burns hot! Even gets your slightly green wood burnin . EPA probably frowns on it, tho. F-'em!

Did you do all that with my groover? Probably works better this time of year then when i did mine in January.

Can someone post a picture of the tire groover that was used on those tires from the picture,it looks like it takes bigger pieces out than mine

has anyone cut down some boggers as much as people are cutting the tractor vs

Yes, I did. I took every other lug out and cut them down to the cords. They flexed very well. They were just too tall. Dean has them now and loves them.

It's this type with a #8 head and blades. #8 is 1/2" yours is probably a #4 or 1/4"
You can purchase larger heads and blades. Don

"pre warming" the tire some way makes it alot easier, we used to sit them beside the woodstove for awhile

Thanks thats the one I have,but with the small head,Ill get a bigger head and blade and do some trim work on my boggers,Ive already cut out the small lugs,but I was afraid to go to the cords

Sharpshooter, when you take the boggers down to the cords it will flex just like the one in the pic of Brad's.

Sharpshooter.................don't be afraid!!!!!!!!!!!! DO it man!

You will love the way they work when you are done. If you don't have beadlocks already, (don't remember) get a set, and run the tires very low on air. The traction is unbelievable.

I cut my 33's almost to the cords 1/2 way down the sidewall. They are VERY soft. And they work very well. The trick to making Boggers soft is the cut the sidewall. That makes them very flexible.

Dean down here in ga we have a kid well I guess he's grown now but he grooved everybodys tires for years . He also done really nice work then he went and got hitched the rest is history . but I still think it's a job for a young man

Yes, grooving is for the young, especially since my son is only 13 and has grooved Dean's boggers, MadMike's and my flotations.
