I can tell you from experience because I ride with MadMike all the time and have ridden in his buggy, that his subi powered rail is VERY impressive. It is all in preference, he swears by it and I will never argue with him about it because I've seen it in action. I myself prefer VW but undisputibaly subi power is a very good BANG FOR THE BUCK power source. I don't care what you run, if it is in a rail and it keeps up I consider it a buggy and will not discriminate you for your decision. Point is we are in the woods having a good time and enjoying ourselves and fellow buggy riders.

I have been out of town working the last couple days so I realize this thread had kinda died but I want to say that I did not mean to knock anyones motor and of COURSE its a buggy. I think one reason I feel so strongly about VW is the power that can be made with such a small engine. It still amazes me. The whole notion that it's not a buggy is absurd. That would be like saying a built '32 for is not a Hot Rod if it doesn't have a Chevy motor in it.
Mike I hope I didn't offend you. We may not agree on powerplants but I tell everyone how nice your buggy is.
And Stevo as far as you putting in a Subi motor this winter. Glad you got to climb that hill first... sorry couldn't resist.

Stevo, there is a line forming.........

Dean, no thin skin here. I know what I have, I like it and it hasen't failed me yet. Now if I can only move 50 or 60 pounds up front so I can keep the front end down, I'll be a happy camper.
