Ain't got no pic's yet but I have a few :?: s. Ok I'm wanting to do my front end like Ron's. Mainly the top part. My :?: is on welding the tubing together, do I need to butt weld the tubing together or do I need something inside or outside for strength at the joint? I got .083 & .120. I'm going to use .083 for bracing & .120 for top & bottom on the front end. Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks :)

I weld black pipe, so this should be similer. We just but weld, which has to test out stronger then the pipe. But at this thin wall I would put a sleve in it. Especially with the higher stress in this area of the frame. Chime in guys that have been doing this for years.

I thought about use black like you use for water lines. I think a 1-1/4" pipe would slide in and just weld it & slide the outer tubing in and but & weld.

I take a small pc of the same tubing. Cut a notch out of it long was and slip it in as sort of a connector then butt weld. Might be a lil tough with 120 wall

What about using .083 as a connector?

I bought my first buggy off of dvs1, it was 87" when i brought it home. We decided to stretch it, used the black wall tubing. It requires grinding a nice layer off to get it into the 1 1/2, but we did mine 3 years ago and its been to wellsville alot. Its still holding up like the day i did it

What harm would it do if I tilted the beam back an 1" or 2. Wouldn't set a little higher?

The only problem I see is that if you go to far the arms will hang to straight down when fully extended. This will not allow the suspension to compress easily on impact. Also I would look at the anfle it will put the Spindle in when turning it. It should create a slight tow in tow out effect because of the angle of pivot. Not sure if it is enought o create a problem, just some things that came to mind. I'm sure someone on here has tried it before and can chime in.

yes you can lean it back an inch and it will give you a little more ground clearance,if you lean it to far it will give you more but thr tires will lean out or lay out at the top on sharp turns.chad

What a good way to fix the shock towers on a BJ so I can run shock like a KP, a bolt on both ends?

Getting closer. Yes I used a HF bender. Still got to fix tie rods. I'm going to hold off on the floor right now. Get me a sheet later for the sides & bottom.

Looking great Tony.. Are you going to make the bumper a little tougher for the next time you go full throttle into a concrete wall.. :) :) That video is still shocking as hell even after you have watched it several times.

glad to see you are getting it back together . I saw the video looked painful but what actually caused the throttle to hang ?

I have a flat bar bolted to the brake, clutch, & gas peddle. Kind of like an extra idle low or high. Well after mt bronco ride in the rut my foot hit the bar forward and caused it to go almost full speed ahead.

Problem with front TA. Drivers side i can set close to the beam and it goes down. If I do the same to the other side it hardly moves also its 1" taller than the other side. took the shock off and no change. #1 is my spindle bent that is the side that kissed the wall and using the spindle with new BJ but different TA's, Oh another thing the tow in is out bad at least an inch more. #2 did I put the TA down to far. #3 I think my frame is just warped.#4 Or should I just take the engine out & put it in the Baja

I had new BJ's put on the TA. I talked to the guy who put them in and he said he may have put them a side X side instead of front to back.
