The guy who started this project told me that the trans axle was a 4.96 with a super beef up kit and the reduction boxes are a 1.69.

That explains it. My day runs early bus reduction boxes which are stock at about 5.38 I've heard. Does your wheel hop? We made some traction type bars to help reduce hop. He runs a 1700 type 4 and has lots of torque. It's wicked ugly but fiesty. 8)

The axle tube is no longer bolted to the spring plate. It has an axle tube stiffener that bolts to the spring plate now.This allows the axle tube and reduction box to rotate slightly.
