 Post subject: no 2nd gear

ive 2 trannys both 3 ribs with no 2nd gear one of them was like that when i put it in and the other worked worked fine for a good long while and one day when riding all of a sudden there was no second gear, no racket, grinding, binding, popping, roaring, noise or nothing just as if it was in neutral.......any suggestions as to what the cause may be before tearing it all apart

surely i aint got 2 trannys with the same problem and im the only person that this has happened too :roll:

i dont no much of anything about trannys & maybe you tryed this but i wood take the shif rod loose and try to put it in 2nd with a set of visegrips or whatever to make sure its going in gear.

its going into gear cause u can feel when it goes over the detent and besides that it goes into r,1st,3rd, and 4th just fine just nothing in 2nd :roll:
