Hi Guys
It's time to start puting by buggy togeather.
I have 2x3 rear arms and type 1 rear torsion. My rear springs and tortion bars came to me in a box so I don't know where to start with the torsion bars and arms as far as what degree they should be to start with.
For a little background I have a 4 seater with 6 rib and bus axels & cv's and type1 to 2 stub axels.
Also running a bus 2.0 motor and have a packrat type back with area for storage and a roof rack.
I am planning on toating a load when camping so I thought that might have an effect on spring plate setting . Also thinking about notching the spring plate for more lift.
What do ya think???

Read the page and what usually works is picture 3, insert spring plate to center lower bolt hole in torsion housing.

This is always an issue the 1st time install the suspension in any buggy. Your goal is to set the torsion bars high enough so that you have some good ground clearance but you do not want to set them to high or you will break your CV joints...

Unfortunately, the best solution is trial and error. You will not know how the buggy will ride until you get it finished and take it for a few rides. It will take 3 or 4 good rides to break everything in.

If it helps, I put my springplates at 23 deg angle before I apply tension. This might be a place to start.

However, this will change for every buggy and will depend on the size and diameter of your torsion bars, weight of the buggy, trailing arms, seat location, etc.. etc...
