I wanted to try "upper arm" shock mount, and it was eaiser to mount it like that. Aren't that other set of arms you have similar? The shock towers are just something new to try. It seems everyone has tubular shock mounts upfront, and I wanted a change of pace. It sure as hell wasn't because it was easier  its kinda scary lookin, like its done something terribly wrong, but won't tell ya what

Finished the shock towers, mounted the steering brakes, roof, accumilator, and started to make a gas tank.

Hey just curious. How much do those lights cost each? And how much amprage do they draw? I've been ussing a new style of LED that draws 6 amps max, But it cost a fortune.

I think they pull about 5 amps each when they start, but they ony pull 2.5 amps a piece running. They are by far the brightest lights i've ever seen. The down fall is the price :x They aren't cheap... hence the heavy duty light bar so I don't wipe them all out when I roll

Back to work on the woodsbuggy! Started on the dash, and ran the power steering lines, and made another fuel cell!

this thing sits up pretty good for not having drop spindles

I started it up over the weekend to test the homemade power steering, and to my suprise, it worked perfectly!! I mounted the rear seat belts, rear limit straps, and the battery. Not much left till I can tear it down and weld it up!

Are you not going to end up with absolutely terrible damping in the first few inches of travel mounting them like that :?:

edit: NM, just spotted the extenders on the arms :D

See I didn't have mine running long enough to see if my power steering worked. Now it doesn't want to fire. I'm not calling it a race but you could still beat me to the woods!

You guys always impress me with the quality of your work and ingenuity.(Woods buggy builders in general) (plus you must have bottom less wallets and shop equipment) My build is probably middle of the road for you guys but, is impressing the 4X4 racers in the next shop and some buggy freaks here. Some 4X4 guys are wondering about having me build them roll cages. Mine first but, might help pay for the bender.

I wish, ours was made in an old shipping container with no floor in it, a hand ratchet tube bender and about 7k.

I'm not going to tot up the labour bill though!

Finally got the frame to the sandblaster! We are moving to a new house in a month or so, so I am going to try to finish this before we move. I figure it will be easier to move a finished buggy than tons of boxes and a frame!

Well at least get it built to a roller so your wife can push you around in it.

I got the frame back from the sandblaster/primer/painter. I was EXTREMELY impressed with the job they (epoxy coatings in cleves ohio) did. For a couple hundred bucks got the whole 9 yards, and imron paint.
