anyone ever built a 2007CC motor? i was lookin around on the samba and found some stuff out about one, i think a 2007cc motor with all good parts would be better for me that a 2332 or a 2276

so what all would i need for a 2007cc or a 2165cc and whats the best brand of engine parts?

i think first you need to decide on how much money you have to spend first before anybody can help you...need a budget so you decide on how much of a motor you can "buy"..

Well if you have to have the case and heads cut, that will be the same on whatever engine you want to build.. The money then comes down to the cranks, clearencing in the case( if you have to pay for this) Then the heads, bigger valves because it's a bigger engine?? I have the 2007, 78 X 90.5 with 40 X 35 valves. It pulls great, I've never taken it over 5,000 rpm though. Dual Weber 44's, 009, Blue coil, The crank was a stocker that has welded counter weights and stock rod size.. .010 under on the mains. I bought my kit from Pacific customs about 10 Years ago and just put it together this year  so the price is useless for what I paid..Thanks Dave T

The thing with me is you will want a bigger motor just as soon as you build one .It always happen like that

There is no substitution for HP

It's all about money....If I were starting off from scrach, and was gona go air cooled I would save and start off with a 2500 tuned right,,,,Then again I might would save a little more and go with a type 4 close to 3LTR with a Porsche fan set up and make HP at the small price of [turn key] 10,000

But after 25 years at this point, if I started off from scrach now I would Propane turbo me up a suby motor and make 400 HP for [turn key] 1,100
