I can not log in at all at work. It keeps returning to the log in prompt and never logs in. I am running Internet Explorer there. . At home I can log in however its running Windstream/Internet explorer. The board runs extremly slow for me. Better at home however at work I dont even bother its so slow.

Try doing a disc cleanup ,go to "start", then "all programs", then" accessories", then "system tools", then "disc cleanup",,,after that,,,or before, you might want to delete cookies,,,

Hey guys, yeah, the board on IE was painful. I am going through and finding areas to streamline for IE6 and IE7.

I'm testing with IE6, and it's much faster already. Let me know what you guys think.

My lab top does the same thing.

Let me know if the speed is better. I changed a couple of things that should help.

As far as the login, if you haven't already, try clearing your cookies.

Also let me know what version of IE you are running.

I have the same problem if my firewall is on when I try to log in. I temporarily shut off the fire wall, log in, turn the fire wall back on and no problems.

I switched to Mozilla Firefox at home and at work and it fixed everything. Speed is better with the new site and Firefox than it was with the old site and IE. Mine was doing same thing as Odyknuck described before I switched. You can set Firefox to automatically erase all cookies when you log off too, so its cleared out next time you get on and there are no log in problems. Firefox made my wife's favorite site go much faster , too, and photobucket uploads are faster and photobucket works like its supposed to.

If you are on IE, Firefox is a free download that takes less than a minute on broadband, just search for Mozilla Firefox and it will bring all your IE "favorites" over too, they call them "bookmarks" on Firefox.

Glad to hear it that it's working better. There are still a few things that need to be fixed, but it's getting there.

Thanks again for the feedback guys. It's really hard to troubleshoot or find out about issues if I don't hear about them.

Well after I posted this message it went back to not allowing me to log in at work. I deleted cookies and files to no avail.

Rick, great, I'm glad you got on. I have a change that I'm going to put in place tonight that I think will fix the troubles that IE has with logging in. You will have to clear your cookies tomorrow, but after that you shouldn't have to clear your cookies anymore.

This is when Geek talk goes bad. We have a cookie conflict right now, but we should be all set after I change it tonight.

Hmm, that's a good one. The Pearl doesn't have a great native browser(I have a Curve with the same browser). I'll see if I can find something, but I'm not sure if I can do it without changing the way the site looks to everyone else.

Good question.

true, the browser does suck on the pearl. looks like ill just have to view wb on my laptop.
when someone sends a private message i have the settings set to notify me via email, is there a way to show the context of the message right in my email rather than having to log on to retrieve the message.

Wow the new site looks great.

I had cookie problems today and cleared everything out in IE 7. Old pages, cookies and such and it logged on.

Site has gotten much quicker as the days goes by. Not sure what your doing but it's making a huge difference. Thanks.

I agree, site is working great. But why do I have to re-log in everytime?

You shouldn't have to. You should be able to check the "Log Me in Automatically" checkbox at login.

If that's not working, try clearing your cookies.

The answer for most login related issues is to clear your cookies. Click on the *Help* tab for a link that will give you instructions on how to do it.

Let me know if you're still having issues, and what browser you are using.

That sounds right to me. The problem was that the cookies on the forum needed to be changed. So when your browser hit the site, the cookies didn't match and the site didn't understand to log you in automatically. And if they cookies aren't cleared, the browser will get confused as to which cookies apply to the site and cause login issues.

The cookies are consistent now and we shouldn't have to change them again, so after you clear your cookies once, and then select "Automatically log me on" that should be it, and you should be good.
