i suppose it comes down to how many people want to get together and tell them that this is unacceptable and that if there is not a change in there policy we wont return next year. do i like it there?...... absolutely! my daughter can ride around camp and like andrew said i don't have to worry about some johnny asshole running into her. but i'm having a hard time justifying spending that much cash for a few weekends. oaktree camp grounds is tempting, its cheaper but it doesn't compare to yellow creek.

i would say that if they locked a gate and told me i couldnt ride and or get my camper they better be a big ole boy to stop me from retreiving my property.i have never been to this spot never quite made it there memorial day but can you still ride the rest of wellsville or is the whole place shut down.this to me is the best part of the riding season,i think these people need to step up and let the people who are paying that kind of money ride.does that cost include power and water also or is it just a spot of ground that is kept secured for you.if you move to a new camp ground you can stop the crazy ass people from running over your kids it might take a few weekends but with the right tools they will slow down.guy at this camp up north took a 16" drain pipe cut it in half and layed across the road at each end of his camp site and you wouldnt beleive how fast people started slowing down.every other camper that had kids out towards the ends did this and after a few weeks nobody was speeding through camp and they took all of them up but the ones in and out of camp and with a few signs it stayed pretty calm.lol.chad

there was a whole lot of us that used to camp in the fenced in area by the tracks, when they raised the rent 2 years ago, and told us about this locking the gates, we all pulled out. i dont even think it phased them people, they didnt care. it used to be you couldnt even get a camping spot in yellow creek. now its like a ghost town. everytime we go back to that fenced in area, we have to laugh, because they used to bitch at us about cutting the grass, now it looks like a jungle back there with no campers. i would say just pull all of your campers out and move to oaktree, its only 500 bucks a camper.

the problem is just with yellow creek camp grounds. the rest of the place is open 24-7/365
power is extra through the electric co. in the area. some camps have wells (including ours) some people haul in water.
i have heard that they started this because of a few people that were living there all year long. if this is the case, why not just boot them out instead of punishing the rest of the campers.

i camp at forbidden its 350 for two people and a camp all year just have to deal with comin up the hill to get to camp and a averege of three times a year gettin broke into but hell that whats expected from theifs

In my opinion you call them up and threaten to leave all you want. The guy that runs that place doesn't care, he thinks he has people waiting in line to camp there. I had problems with him when we camped down there. If you see me on the trail, ask and I will tell you the whole story, it's pretty crazy.
We moved Oaktree a few years ago. Ya our stuff gets broken into but I think it's way better up there. No trains going past shaking your camper (I swear it really shook the camper). Less dust. More scenic if you get the right site. It's where the woods buggy party is every year. It's quieter. THE ACESS ROAD DOESN'T BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF YOUR TOW VEHICLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could go on and on. The only down fall is there is no electric. We didn't have electric in urine creek so It's no big deal to us.
Also I don't see many people riping around camp, so I think you could let your kids ride around there.
