Alright have an 1835, 2 weeks ago in wellsville, started to lose power, then it started makin funny noises, SO time to rebuild. I wanna jump up to a 1915 Just looking for someone close to me with the knowledge to help me rebuild. Im probly very capable of doing so myself, But i would like the motor to last a lil while haha SO if any one is up for it, please lemme know, I'll buy beer, pay ya cash whatever , Juss wanna learn how to do it right thanks- jayrod

if you have it cut out for 94s then just have who does your machine work put the bottom end together.shouldnt cost you that much more and that way if he has to replace anything inside or line bore then he can match the bearing and everything in house.if youve never built one its worth the extra bit of money to have it done right.jmo.chad

yea what i was meaning was watch the guy and or help.that way you can learn,most of the shop owners around here are usally willing to help some out like that.you would just have to ask and see if they would be willing to do that at the shops near you.chad

Did you take off the rocker covers to see if the problem is simple. Google HP books Get their rebuilding and hot rodding VW engine books. If you have access to dial indicator, micrometers and bore guages building an engine raher than assembling parts is only time consuming not hard.
Did you have an oil pressure oil temp and head temp guage to indicate a problem before it happens?

That sounds great nitro! haha tell ya the truth id like to see the inside of the watercooled first lol. Idk wat route im going with this thing yet. Im basically gonna build a new buggy, my frame is toast keeps snappin all over and thats scary, I hate to say it....But water cooled would be awesome!
