Trying to put together a ride here in Fultondale Al (5 minutes north of downtown Birmingham off I -65), 2nd week end in Oct. Mt Busby will be back open, and a few new ones such as Bill Hill and the unnamed untamed hill beside 5 Jump. Pot of chile and large FIRES not fries:) .Admission -free, prizes -none, pass the hat if you want to encourage some one to do something competitive. Arrive fri nite ,set up and be ready sat morning and stay til mon (Columbus Day)( Dave's B'day).Expect 15 local buggies tops.A Flying J truck stop is 1 mile away( expensive and no air for tires).Heavy buggies with bolted tires and high rpm ARE destructive so PLEASE bring your rubbers and have safe wrecks. Most buggies just have an average of 18 " ground clearance so help them out.I do have a pick, so expect to take turns with it when needed.:) Camping area is an old parking lot and has 2- 110 electrical plugs with multi splitters(great for a crock pot, charge phones, liights, hair dryer etc). The highway dept quit using it for tractor storage and the power is still live. It's about a 1/2 acre and thin gravel on a hill top, hidden from the road and a great spot. Actually, it's beside the old Georgia Hang Out on the old Coalberg Rd above Bill Hill.I will sleep in the back of my Suburban there. The Passat buggy will definitly be there with "cut" 38's now. Cell #(205)-369-7406 The wife wanted a new bedroom suit , so I got her a pair of pajamas.

We'll miss ya Wade. Can't wait to see ya here. When is a good week end to expect you down here in December?I ain't seen then sushine, since, I don't know when(Johnny Cash). It has rained here all month. You aren't missing anything here. You need an inner tube or a blow-up doll to stay afloat down here.My small camp by the creek got washed away. Lots of new camping supplies, gone. Found 1 of my chain saws sticking out of the mud. :( And It's sill raining.Going Monday to prep trails and trees.Got to get Austin(son) a new crank and rings.

I'll be down in December, around christ.and new years. so i hope i can wait. try to keep your head above water. and i'll be down soon. I'll keep in touch. Heres my # (704) 791-8497 you can let me know if i need to bring a boat, and leave the buggy in charlotte.....

Hi Nitro. I love that wheelie.I wish I could drag it up there.I have to go to Turkey Oct 15 - Nov 16.I am a tire kicker on an Air N'tl Guard air refueling jet. We fly around up there from time to time and I can see some evil terrain especially around the Appalacians. But all I can do is look out the window like a 5 year old that can't go out to play.I have been dirt broke this summer and have longed for going up there for years. I had planned to go Labor day ,but I busted the rear end on my Dodge Ram pulling my buggy in July. But I WILL be there next spring!I noticed some nice trails last spring above Louiville on the Ohio side of the river.Wellsville or DnK would be awesome. Will kick around doing both. -------- We can't get mail down here cause the red necks think the postmen are Union soldiers!

Update: Chain sawed a new hill parallel to Mt Busby today. Only the bad of the bad need to attempt. 6" thick topsoil, leaves and mulch and steeeep! Remember, after you cross the road you still got another 55' hill to contend , hook a cutbrake hard left and come down the side.My son (Austin), drew a breath and said, "Dad, somebody is going to get hurt on this hill." Back in its day, Mt Busby denied 2 chain drives and put them thru the trees up side down.I talk to God when I cut these hills to get his blessings. If I ever hurt someone I will quit this that I love dearly. Hey! If H2O is on the inside of a fire hydrant , what is on the outside? K9P

Sounds like fun. I was told no need to go there only Chain Drives with bolted tires can get around. ?? Also the little ditch digger buggys can not even get out of the parking lot? One day I might just up grade and go with yall. Would not want to try and take my 1641 there. :? Have fun. I would like to see yall come to D&K to the hill climb, I like watching some good buggys in action.

Come on bruce your the closest to fultondale, Run on over there and turn that 1641 loose. I heard if you put some of that 104plus octane booster in your tank it will make it fill like an 1835......

Dave here. Fultondale has a good mix of riding, but you can still get around and watch with a 1641. :shock:Goingto F'dale this week end to mostly do trail maintenance. If you ever wonder how that tree across the path got gone or that rut got smooth, or the trail got wider, chances are DD DiDit.Tomorrow me n Austin and Julie have to widen Mt Busby.

Awesome . All buggies are welcome Terry. I did't understand what u meant. My Dad cut his lower leg off with a chain saw back in his day. He had a prostetic leg and every evening when he would get in, he'd put his foot down. Friends thought he was stuck up and too good. Some called him Mr Goody Shoe. Once the barber cut off my ears and I couldn't see. ---------- . My hat would fall down over my eyes. We were so poor Dad would make me stay in my room naked. When I was 5 he bought me a hat so I could look out the window.I got to go to work.Dave out.

All I got is a little buggy too :( :? . I cant get around at that place. Old fashioned outdated unreliable overpriced weak lil VW motor.... and my tires dont weigh 100 lbs each. I aint got a prayer.
