my buddy brought me his buggy -- put a different motor on it cause he grenaded his , and he couldn't get it to run.
I finally got it to fire up but its only running on 2 cylinders -- i have cleaned the carb (weber progressive), changed cap and rotor, plugs and wires , and made sure intake was sealed. Also checked push rods all are straight -- look like stock heads cut for 94's
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

Is it a new engine ? Sounds like a intake leak But you already checked that I would ck the comp. with a compression gauge and see if the head is sealed to the jugs
I no its simple and highly unlikely but are you certain the plug wires aren't crossed on that side ?

I have no idea on the motor -- im not even sure how many cc it is. First it was suppossed to be a stroker , now i guess its a 1915, only way to tell is tear it down and he just wants to make it run. how much compression should it have? I even looked up firing order in my book to be sure of wires

valves could be to tight

It's not so important what the numbers say as long as they are within 5 or 10% of each other.

just so your not mislead,,mike means all 4 cyl's 5-10% not just 3&4

Mine hit 125on 3 cylinders and 123 on the other one. What numbers you see are dependent on cam, ring seal, and valve seating. As has been said, if all your cylinders are very close to each other you should be okay to a point. A reading of around 90 or below indicates that cylinder is just along for the ride and not making any power, if all are around that your motor needs freshened up.
