Wire the switch in the dash. I am using the Warn remote and its a pain in the ass! The wiring is very simple. 12 volts to the center terminal on the switch and one wire to each outside terminal of the switch to each side of the contactor.
Note: The toggle switch needs to be a momentary Single pole double throw momentary center off. You could use a maintained center switch off however it's too easy to forget and leave it on.

the remote on my winch messed up so i used a 3 way toggle switch, but when you mount it, make sure the passenger can reach it.

i put the super duper time warp extra fast ludacrist speed button away from the passenger so they dont hit it by accident thinking it is just a cigarette lighter.

Your winch should have two selinods built into it. It doesn't take too many amps to power up the selinods. So you don't have to go 10 guage, you can go 12 or 14. I'd go about 12. As far as mounting the switch so your passenger can get to it, on more than one occasion, I had to get out, and have the passenger run the winch while I pulled the cable uphill and tied it to a tree.
