I am changing the trailing arms on my buggy. I got these from Jim's Custom VW. I was wondering if anyone has any advice that I may need before I put them on. The old 3x3 arms that came on my buggy were a bit out of alignment. So I am replacing them. I have all new bearings and seals. I am using the old 930 stub axles. I have welded on the brake brackets and the shock mounts. I was also wondering how strong these arms are. Is there anyone on here broke a set of this type or arms.

They make different quality of arms. Depending on your type of riding and avoidence of trees, they should be fine. I would have waited too weld your caliper mount till you mounted the arms with stub rotor etc...

I have no first hand experience with Jim's fabricated parts, not even sure he makes them. I do know I have looked at them and liked what I saw, seem to be well built no matter who's making them. He offers a bunch of fabricated stuff from time to time, all looks good and right.

I sure hope these will be straighter than the old ones. On the old ones the right rear wheel leaned out so much that the buggy wanted to pull to the right all the time. As for the Caliper brackets. I used the old brackets to make a holding fixture. Even after all the careful calculations and welding. I still had to machine the bracket so they would fit right. I got the arms mounted. So when I get my heads back from Jim. I can put the motor back together.
