You looking for a nose cone mount or a mid mount? I would do both if you can.

The center piece in this picture is for bug to bus nose cone mount

Here are a few shots of a mid mounts.

If you already have a good setup on your type 1 tranny. BerrienBuggy sells a real simple kit that provided a new nose cone bracket and two small brackets for the rear that convert your existing type 1 mount to a type 2 mount.

I've got these 2 pieces.... are they what i need, and do they just bolt up or are there bushings or anything that go between the tranny/plate, or plate/torsion mounts?
I'm assuming that i only need one of these 2 pieces correct. the hole spacing is a little different on them so does it matter which one i use? take a look and let me know what you think.

use the one on the left, jus bolt to ur nose cone on tranny and then slide it in and bolt to the torsion, but u still need all the other stuff in the pic above, might have to do some welding to install the straps, like a bolt on the horns

I bought a bus to bug kit and it raised the 3 rib up enough I had to add another shifter box on top of my old one for my rod to be level with shifter. Here some udder stuff I found out.

u didnt have to add another shifter box u could had jus put a slight bend in the shifting rod,or put steering u-joints on both ends and made it work

Putting the shifter up higher is easier on my elbow.

all right, i'm probably going to try and keep all my trans questions in this thread, just for simplicity, but if i need to start a new thread for a new question just tell me and i'll do so

So we got our 3 rib out of the corner and was looking at getting it in. and the "prongs" on the cross shaft are broke off, and the bushing on the left side is really really buggered up.. So i just ordered a new crossshaft and bushing kit from drews offroad, and i think it'll be here monday. anyways, while i'm waiting on that i wanted to ask yall if the old clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing off of our old swing axle willl work, or are we gonna have to buy a new setup to get the power from the engine to the tranny, all that stuff is still bolted on our 1835 and i'm hoping after the crosshaft and new bushings are in i can bolt the tranny in , and then bolt the engine right to and rock on with the next part of the project..

If you have the early 3 rib then yes.
If you have the late then mostly no.........
Clutch disc will work for either
Early pressure plate will usually work if you remove the ring in the center.
Early TOB will not work on late setup.

Note arrow pointing to TOB guide sleeve.

she said something about some piece that was on the shaft. or something like that,
there is nothng on our shaft, or any holes to bolt anything to the shaft.... make any sense?

The something on the shaft she speaks of is that collar the arrow points to.

Lisa probably sent you a Bugpack 5035-12 shaft and bushing kit.
Post up the part numbers when you get it.

you were right, it is a bug-5035-12 hd crossshaft type 2 68-70
had to use the old return spring, we couldnt get the old one. got it close once, but the snap ring shot off.
any "tricks" to getting it on, or just have to bow up with it.
