Go for MSD from Jeg's, they are very reliable and can get it in 2-3 days if ordered by 9:00 pm

Pertronixs are very good ignition system too, it is just a distributor and a coil-pack, I run a MSD electronic 6AL, (far different from the regular 6AL), a MSD Billet distributor, and a MSD Coil-pack. I believe in the MSD, NASCAR, NHRA, Late-model racing, just about every motorsports out there runs a MSD system. It is just my opinion, I know there are others out there that works well.

if u are gonna stick with vw distributor definetly go with petronix and bosch blue coil and dont waste time on compufire or computronix they are junk imo as i have run both and the magnetic trigger that goes under the rotor allways gets loose and is cause for inconsistant timing issues wheras the petronix fits tight and stays that way

Toyota truck modded (22R engine with carb, not F.I). Works great, and cheap. I removed the secondary advance spring so the advance comes in quicker.

If you are interested in a full MSD ignition system, I will be selling my MSD "Off Road" ignition box, rev limiter, coil and distributor. I am converting to a Subaru and will not need it anymore.

I also have a bosh Alternator and a Weber carburetor.

I am sure yet... The Ignition system was roughly $800 and the carb was $400 plus the Alt was another $200.. I am thinking around $550 for the entire engine. I know the heads need some work but other than that the engine is great.

I've got one from a Mitsubishi. They work pretty well. Eric knows what he is talking about on this one.
