Well to day I had a small oil leak at my oil cooler. Thought it was just the line, but has luck has it the fittin on my cooler was breaking off. So no wi need a new one. What is ever body running? I would highly suggest the mesa plate cooler! Its more efficiant and yes you can get complete install kits.

run a stock cooler with the tins around the cooler will work just fine. i never have any problems in my buggy or street car. alot of guys run type 4 coolers on some big motors keep it simple.

Using a bypass oil cooler as in the ad keeps your oil from cooling at idle and the missing restriction puts more air over 3/4 and less at 1/2 cylinders. For years I ran the aluminium shroud that restricted flow to 3/4 with a cooler block off and only ran a full flow Mesa cooler on my 1835 and 2180. It seem to work ok around 20,000 miles the lifter bores wore out due to the VZ style cams but there was no blow by, but I had an electric fan for cooling the cooler at idle. One cooler was ok for the 1835 the 2180 needed two 96 plate coolers. If you want to keep it as it is just get another same style cooler. I would at least upgrade to the much stronger Mesa cooler to replace the refrigerator style cooler you have. I would also upgrade to crimped hoses with screw on connectors. I am big on screw on hoses. I have seen to many clamped on hoses come off and ruin an engine. Either way support the hoses with cable clamps to keep the hoses from cracking the new cooler again. I have since gone back to the factory dog house oil cooler and shroud and kept the Mesa coolers. If you still have the parts around I would reinstall the factory dog house oil cooler If your oil temp never goes over 210 all you may need is a full flow oil filter and the stock cooler. Converting to the larger T-1 cooler is also real easy. If working it hard gets the temp over 220 you could then add the Mesa cooler and better hoses.

Yes I really want the screwing fitting with the new cooler I am goin to get. I have looked ever were for one. Can someone link me to a good with. Perfer a kit with the hoses.
