Thanks guys, I am ready to go back to the Cold Spot anytime now until I broke my CV and stripped an axle today   I am going to order a new set of SAW axles and some race-prepped cages for the new CV's, one of the new CV's exploded on me today and all I did was clutched it a little bit and there she went and it ruined my axle :(

Glad you did not get hurt. Did you drive the rail off of the tree? Thats a good way to see if all your floor nuts and bolts are tight. Empi and LR axles and torsion bars seem brittle and like to breakoff splines. I run Lobro CVs and Sway Away axles. A couple of places sell race prepped CVs.

Yes, I backed it right off the tree and looked at the rail and it did not do anything to it at all and all of the bolts were still holding the floorpan in, I ordered some new race-prepped cages for the CV's, they are 4340 chromoly ones already polished to run the CV's at 28 degrees. The CV cage exploded and when I took it apart, the pieces of it fell out and the star was still in one piece, but could not get it off of the axle because of the stripped splines in it, I can do some filing on the axle until I can get it to slide off of it.

I'm glad the floor was tight. A Fred Flinstone rail could get scary. When I bought my rear arms from Woods Wheel Works he had me set the maximum axle angles 2 degrees less in each direction to compensate for any future damage that could increase the angle. After 2200 miles the cvs still look like new. I do keep a spare cage and ball set in the rails tool box.

That sucks about your axle, Chad.
You put on a good show for us all at the cold spot that day! It's a blast ridin' with ya. I got a picture on my phone of your buggy sitting on that tree like that. :D I got the video on my phone too. It's from the bottom though, so ya cant see much about it.
