I pulled my heads off of my engine (kbaby's old engine ) to lower the compression and found 1 cyl burning a little oil so I figured since it was down I might as well put new piston and Cyl. in it and be good to go for awhile . when I pulled the pistons out I noticed Rock had clearanced the base of the piston so it wouldnt hit the counterweight on the crank and the opposing cly's conecting rod I tried a 94 stroker piston I had lying around that has not been clearanced and it hits the crank at the bottom of the stroke

So my question is how hard is this to do and what is the best tool for this ? the only 2 82 stroke egines I have built did not have this problem so I aint never done this so boys point me in the right direction

why not just slap a new set of rings on there?

when we clearanced my pistons greg stuck them on the top part of a belt sander and took a bit off. then I have everything balanced afterwards.

You can use a sander like he said and lightly sand it. Or die grinder. Or even just a hand file. It shouldn't take much. I had same problem. Just make sure you smooth out the skirt edge and kinda polish it out. Also make sure the piston weights stay very very close to the gram if possible. Itll be fine. Also check to make sure the skirt isn't hitting the webbing in the case. I think I had one or two cylinders do that.

that set of pistons are balanced put them back in just add barrel shims if you want to lower comp .That motor had total seal rings in it . I would just re ring it

I would re-ring it way cheaper. You could also use copper head shims too.

When in doubt, hit it in second gear!

That engine must have 5.4 or 5.5 rods in it. Check your cyliders to make sure theres not a wear lip, if not then rering it.

yea i had 5.4's in mine when we done it. now has 5.6's
