Is it points or electronic you may have already said

IT RUNS thankgot the whole distrubuter was not tightened dowm correctly and the points were not set right i just reset them and turened the distributer and tightened and it fired it right up, THANK EVERYONE SO MUCH FOR THE HELP!!!!

Make sure you time it. Set it to 32 degrees at 3500rpm

Noticed, ralston noted about washers under the gear... hope they put it in, they once told my dad and I that it was not necessary when I was still learning... That scrapped a case.. Glad you got it running!!

Try putting a test light on the neg side of coil and turn the motor over. Test light should go off and on as the points break. If it doesn't try cleaning or changing your points, That is if you have points.
