You can't go wrong with a Pertronics. I liked them so much I even installed a Pertronics in my boat motor.

Pertronix in my buggy, MSD Blaster2 High Vibration coil, MSD 6AL Ignition, 009 Dissy.

Supposedly if you run the MSD coil with the pertronix module, you are supposed to run a resistor to prevent it from burning up, I have never ran one and ran this setup for a year, but on a friends we had to install one or it would fry modules.

I've got one out of a 4 cylinder Mitsubishi in mine. Shorten the housing and the shaft, drill it for the VW gear and drop it in. My brother Rick has run one for 14 years without the first problem. My brother Eddie ran one for 7 years until the module went out last summer because the regulator in his alternator went out. I've run mine for 5 years so far with no problems.

Roy I believe its with any of the blaster series. They put out around 17amps I believe and the pertronix can only handle 7 I think? Its a low low number compared to the output of the MSD.

I used to run the Pertronix ignighter with a 09 distributer, and i was having a problem, i thought that my carborators were running rich. It turns out the ignition system wasn't hot enough to fire all of the fuel. I switched to the MSD 6AL box. with the MSD distribuator and MSD coil. what a difference. I got twice the power, and its burning the fuel real clean.

Me too! no dist just a coil with four wires must be magic. I ran pertronics for years in a 009 and loved it.
