While I was installing the industrial air filter I noticed a crack in my upper trans mount. This mount was already there and I planned to make it better but now I have a big hole in the tubing. Do you think it will be ok to jut weld the hole and make a new mount welded on the bottom of the bar. I have seen a few mounts but if you have time post some pictures of yours so I can see other ideas. Check the last picture of what I plan to do.

Do I really need this mount if I have tubing supporting the stingers, a nose cone mount, trans straps front and rear and a welded in mid lower mount?

Brad weld up the tube and make a wider bracket like you planned. That mount was too narrow for what it does, and yes keep the upper mount.

Definatly keep the top trans mount. It ties the frame into the trans and adds a lot of strengh. The drawing you show is similar to mine and a good design. It spreads the load across way more surface than your original mount.
