Lately we have been talking about the possible closing of Wellsville. If this happens it will certainly make it tougher for people in that area to enjoy off roading. Sure Hillsville is nearby but I am sure that if 1/3 of the people who ride Wellsville showed up they would shut it down right now. There seems to be lots of places to ride quads but those places won't allow buggies in. And I for one have no desire to ride one of those quads around. I want to drive the buggy that I built with my own 2 hands. Also Some 4x4 parks lots of those won't let us in either. And I sure don't want to sell my buggy and buy a 4x4.
This brings me to my subject. I notice that we have been putting down some of the offroad parks that cater to buggies. I really believe that if there is a park that is allowing buggies to ride we should do nothing but support them. One of these days that is all we are going to have is the private parks to ride in. If people like D&K and Wilborns among others, will have us we should be grateful. And we should really be mindful of the guys who live close to a park. That may be the only place they have to ride. And maybe it is a place that they really enjoy. We should not knock it. If you don't like it don't go there but lets not get negative about a place that our fellow buggy riders like to ride. I did not start this site to give some of us a place to make fun of other buggy riders.
Last fall when we had Curts first Hillclimb, Tanner walked up to me and said that this was the biggest organized trespassing event he had ever seen. He is so right. We were trespassing. We are trespassing at Wellsville, The Cold Spot, Rush Ky, Hillsville etc the list goes on. That is why we need to me very careful about what we say about the very few places that we are legally able to ride. Sure it may not be the terrain we like or it may not be full of our favorite people but still it is a place that hopefully we will always be able to go to and enjoy time with like minded friends.
This website has been a learning process for me. I have had guys ask me in the past about saying something and I chosen not to. But after thinking about it I have decided to at least ask that we not say negative things about these folks who are trying to provide us with a place to play.
I guess from now on If you have something negative to say about a park try to make sure it is constructive. This bashing is not doing us any good.
Like your Mom told you, "If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all."

Thanks for reading this. If you don't agree with me please feel free to pm me.

this has happened here in Missouri more or less. Theres a place called deepwater at the lake. A orv area. well the local 4x4's would go in and get all muddy and drive home on the local interstate throwing mud every where . well they went in and put up gates that are only 48inches wide to just allow atv's. so now if you over 48" your not allowed in. so the buggies got screwed by the street 4x4 trailing mud every where. So your actions do have some effect somewhere.

Thanks a lot i sure appracation that very much. And i 'am sure Wilborns does to.PS It's take a lot to keep a park open and a whole lot of responsibility to go with it.

Good write up on park support Dean. You are right about them being the only place left to ride in the future.

well the only response other than there not allowed came from badlands,They said it had to much HP,and the tires when run tear up the hills!!Now a stock 6cyl jeep has more hp than most buggys, plus has 4 wheel drive and runs bigger tires than my buggy but doesnt tear up the hill worse? And a couple places are ran by 4x4 clubs so they will not allow them either!

That why we let anything ride at D&K we don't wont anybody mad. If you tare it up we fix it.Or if it get to ruff that will make it better for the Extreme one . It's hard to make every body happy so i quite trying . Only thing i ask is not to be acting up in the camping and parking with your rides we got 3000 acres for that .you can do what every u wont back in there .And i am sure Willie will put u on a party some where. he is pretty good at that.We just won't every one to have the best time every. 8)

Ok everybody pay attention.
a LIST is a section of information on a certain topic. Most likely ONLY containing information. Such as Names, Adress's and Phone Numbers
a FORUM is were people discuss something. Such as their opinion of the topic of the forum.
Two different things.
