I just started working on the front suspension and after getting the shims worked out for the link pins I have a question about the nylock nut for the link pins. I have the set screw that passes through the flat spot on the pin. How tight is the nylock suspose to be and is there a washer that goes between it and the arm? I just snugged them a little and then tightened the allen screw that passes through the flat spot. The nylock wants to spin when I cycle the arms up and down. Do you double nut these?

Is it a set screw or a through bolt that passes along side the flat on the pin? I was always told to tighten the nylock nut wrench tight, then back it off one point on the nut. The through bolt or set screw needs to be good and tight. No need for a washer between the arm and the nut there should be movement there.
I really don't like a nylock nut there, I would rather have a crush nut or a threaded chaft coller.
My pins came with crush nuts.

I have the through bolts that cross the flat spot on the link pin. I did tighten that bolt tight, its the nylock on the end of the link pin that I was worried about. I have enough thread that I could double nut it, and I might just to be sure. The nylocks have been on and off a couple times so they don't hold well and I don't trust them. Either new nylocks or just another nut on the end with give me peace of mind. Thanks, Mike.

Nothing wrong with double nuts, better than nylocks any day. So ya know, nylocks can only be used once for them to hold right. I'll use them over, but as a reguler nut with a built in thread protector.
