Hell I have been riding these trails for years and I still get lost in broad daylight. I am getting better now lol. Like pPlumberbill I was there in the 80s with him alot. Was taking my Pilots and Odysseys there begining in the late 90s.

Good grief, I just want people to know what they are going to experience if the come to Wellsville. I would hate to see some people drive hours and hours only to find a situation that they do not agree with.

There have been more then one case documented (by Wellsville, and Saline Township police) of "shots fired". In all instances that I know of it involved a previous fist fight. I was on the receiving end of 9mm fire. I was sitting in my S-10 4x4 at the top of Triple Trouble when there was a fight and someones girlfriend pulled out a gun and started shooting . It is not common but it does happen. The people on this website are not the type of people that would cause any of this trouble. Unfortunately they could be on the receiving end if they don't know what to look for. For the most part nothing bad happens before midnight.

I did see an off duty local cop beat a guy, that was strapped into a buggy seat, for no reason, in broad daylight, while an on duty Jefferson Township cop watched. That happened 9-1-03 in Oak Tree Campground at about three in the afternoon, a long time ago, but that might have something to do with me staying away for so long. That same "off duty cop" danced around a camp fire, drunk, in uniform with a gun in his hand at Oak Tree. He was a good friend of Dave the owner. Dave even considered him a free security service. That is a lot of the reason that I am coming back to the sport after staying away for so long. That same off duty cop is now facing felony charges for activities during his employment at the local prison. Justice might be served after all.

The biggest problem at Wellsville...as with any other ride spot...is from the idiot that came along with a friend that is into offroading, not from the actual person that rides.

I knew that my post might cause problems. Then I thought about Curt's post about another ride spot. Maybe not a terribly bad place, but you need to know what you are going into. I want to meet new friends, ride, drink beer, and maybe find a buggy to buy. I do not want to give directions to the local motel to a family that drove hours to get there and are scared out of their minds.



Thanks Odyknuck, I would like a buggy ride. I will be there on my street legal YZF426. I will be able to scout trails and hills, get back to camp for spare parts faster than anyone else, guide people out "the easy way", and help out on beer runs. (I only drink beer after dark). If the economy doesn't get any worse I might be able to ride with all of you soon. I have put in for vacation for an extra day before and after the holiday. I can't wait to make some new friends and get ideas for my next buggy!

I don't mean to anger anyone, or turn anyone away from Wellsville. I 'm just stating the facts, good and bad, about the place. It can be troublesome at times but my mother still lives there so it can't be all bad.

If that place was a family campground and the safety police were there all the time I probably wouldn't go there. Bottom line is just don't be a moron.
We always said in wellsville you have to obey at least two of the ten commandments. But you get to pick which ones you want to obey.

i guess i should have been a little more specific about y i don't take the kids out. it has nothing to do with trouble, most of the time any time people see kids around they are very respectful, and try to watch what they do. it is just so hectic, the people on 4 wheelers and dirt bikes are just flying all over the place and i just don't want to tke the chance of one of my kids getting hurt by someone not watching what's going on. i do let them ride around camp as plumberbill said. i just wanted to be more clear on my earlier statement. i will take my kids out riding any other time during daylight hours, but i just prefer not to have them out there in the hectic enviorment of holiday weekends. we tend to throw on of the biggest parties for the fourth of july. we spend about 1500 just in fireworks. but even the i prefer to keep the kids in camp. last year was different because we through our party in june. because we had to work the fourth. we got in trouble because we about shut the road down by the creek from everyone coming down to watch the fireworks. i can't say nothing bad about yellow creek or the people there, almost anybody will stop and help u even if they don't know who u are.

I will be there. I am camping in the same spot. I am not working on anybody's stuff this time either. I am going to ride and do some partying. As usual, I will be staying for a week or so. I always look forward to my weeks vacation in Wellsville every year. It's always a blast.

You guys can count me in for being there on mem. day weekend. I have been here the last 2 yrs and was there 4 times last year. wellsville is am awsome place to ride. I don't have a buggy but i do have a yamaha rhino. but i must say the buggy thing got me. been working on a buggy but there is no way it will be done in time but i will still be there. does any of the local guys know what is going on with the coal plant they are putting in out there? i heard some rumors but who knows what the real story is.

What day you all going up on Willie? I may fall in line. I don't want to miss this one.

The pics are taken from my best friend's plane and his dad's plane. the red and white twin was his dad's. The twin has since been sold. We think it's running drugs somewhere now. lol
My other friend posted the video on youtube. Me and Afterburnt took the pics.
The idea of the video, was identify the location of the pics. No one seemed interested. No big deal
Looking back at it now, we are lucky the local's didn't think we were the d.e.a. looking for pot or meth labs. They may have tried to shoot us down.
