No, I wouldn't know. I wouldn't consider anything other than what I have now.

iv had both i ran a poly for years in my for seater and i ran it becuse it was yellow and match the buggy i didnt like the fact of the fill neck not being in the center and the fitting set up.it worked fine for 2yr and that buggy stayed on its topbut if i was buying a new tank id spend the x 20 bucks and buy a aluminum tank.and if you want to spruce up the way a aluminim tank looks have it powder coated clear makes them look cool as hell.

So was I.

Not a poly style fuel cell enclosed in an aluminum box but a POS round bit of plastic like this:

Didn't know they even made such a thing. Turbo I don't blame ya for not wanting to sell them, I wouldn't.
All I can say is you get what you pay for, ya wanna go cheap, that's what ya get.
How cheap do you need to be to buy one of them round plastic tanks. $65
A 5 gal poly fuel cell from summit is only $95, a 12 gal is only $110
Try to save $30 on one of the most important safty items we use, don't make sense to me.

You don't have to be cheap. Maybe a guy doesn't have alot of money. Or maybe he bought it already built. or maybe he just hasn't thought about it. Thats what we're here for.

How about foam-filled fuel cells? That's what I am running now, I think it helps keep the gas from splashing around in the tank when riding and also keep them from splashing everywhere when ruptured during a roll-over or a wreck.

The foam (open cell) WILL NOT prevent the fuel from spraying about in a rupture. All it does is keep the fuel somewhat in control in the tank. If your tank is exposed, not in a can or inclosed, it's not as safe as it could/should be.

OK, I thought I would just ask, but I was going to run one of these racing SAFE cells, but I have no room for one when building the new rail.

i had the aluminum tank rupture underneath the holding bracket after to many hard landings while racing. ended up buying a stainless steel tank. the black dot is a pin hole and you can see where the aluminum buckled.
