I told a guy once that he had about a ft to go then he would most likely flip. I thought he was gonna cry. I still smile when I think about that.

Hey khaney01,

I completely agree that some of the new guys (like me) need to practice backing down some hills to get comfortable and also test our buggy's. When I rolled, it was mostly because my front brakes locked up and I could not steer or slow down.

Had I practiced on a few hills, I would have known to install a proportion valve and limit my front brakes.

I also did not have any cutting brakes at all.

I just got finished installing cutting brakes and a proportional valve. Next time I get to go riding, I am going to find a hill and practice backing down.

He no longer has a buggy. You wouldn't know him. Anothere really nervous guy was DVS1 when he was hanging on the side of the hill at the chicken coop, the one Rock rolled off of. I think he had all the brakes locked down pretty tight.

I know that it may be confusing to others at times, but it won't do anybody good to hollar at me to tell me which way I should go when backing off of a hill because I can't hear sh*t, I am deaf in the right ear and wears a hearing aid in the left, my hearing lost is around 80% in the right and 100% in the left. 8) So I hope it makes me try to figure out which way I should go more better like my sixth sense

That sixth sense will do you a lot better than some drunk trying to tell you how to get off a hill anyways!
My uncle is deaf and he is more aware of his surroundings than anyone else I know. A ghost couldn't sneak up on him. That sixth sense stuff is a true story for some, I believe.

Yeah Barry. Remember that? I was right beside him talking him down, when I said that. He was terrified.
It takes a big man to cry.................and an even bigger man to laugh at him.

It is kinda fun when you know they are in no danger. I was telling this one guy that I would take care of his wife as we were getting him off a hill. He was not amused.

i know im new at buggys at wb.com but i live for the ribbing when im climbing i wouldnt try half the hills if it wasnt for everyones "good" advice like "you can make it, cut brake, 2nd gear" as im spinning out or backing down a hill or rolling down i for one say keep the advice coming trial by fire is the only way to get good or have fun. i have alot more fun breaking my buggy then all those people who sit at the bottom and watch.

Isnt that the truth. I know when we go wheelin with our IH group, there are those that are always taking the bypasses and sittin at the bottom of a hilll watching. I guess that is why there are gravel roads to cruise.
