the blue buggy in the garage in my pictures lost 90lbs 45 off each wheel with the carbon fibers. he had 16 inch steel wheels and tubes (tube alone was 12lb). The carbon fiber wheels weigh 8lb.

well here is a pic of my rims that i have the pic isnt real great kcshelby84 nut they are kinda off black and the inner half of mine from the lugnuts to the inner part of the wheel is actually aluminum so when you look at mine they are two different colors from where the carbon joins the aluminum part. i am not sure if larrys are like this cause the guy i got mine from is a lil weird but they mounted fine and held air so thats all i care bout. so hope this helps ya!

give me all the measurements you can think of.ill draw it up and see what you think. i cant turn the outsides down to a half inch though. dont have a mill or lath. could make them in 2 pcs though the middle like a spacer.

Here are dimensions taken from Madmikes post:

The VW 4 bolt /----------/ 4 on a 130.5mm (5.137") dia. bolt circle.

The VW wide 5 /----------/ 5 on a 210mm (8.267") dia. bolt circle.
This one I'm not 100% sure of, will check and verify.

The racing wide 5 /-------/ 5 on a 257.175mm (10.125") dia. bolt circle

what size holes you want in them for studs? 1/2 studs go with a .400 hole and to bolt on the vw rotor.550 think thats enough. we can tweak this a little either way. let me know

Needs to be a corection the racing wide 5 is a 5 on a 10.250" dia bolt circle
This should have been done a long time ago, got past me.

It can be done, But to do it you must grind part of the aluminum wheel to clear the lug nuts from the VW pattern.
If your doing only 1/2" thick 6061-T6 forget the fancy stuff. The adaptors I made are 3/4" thick at it's minumum anywhere, started off as a 12.5" od, 1.125 thick solid round.

i can cut up to 7 inches thick. just cant turn them down as long as its flat i can do it all day long. if a person had studs in the rotors should not be a problem. lets figure this out. lets hear some more ideas

I run some made like # 4. Had them made a couple years ago. Just flat 1/2" 6061 with 9 holes poked in it, studs in the rotors, carbon fiber wheels (soon to change to aluminum). Simple, light, strong enough. Been thru alot of crap with no problems yet.

I'd like to have another pair of # 4s to put on my wife's buggy.

I think the wide 5 VW pattern is a 205mm BC.
