Hi y'all. This is my first post on Woodsbuggy. I bought this Chain Drive Rail from Bernard Burns in 2003. I drove to Athens, TN from Anaheim, CA to pick it up. On the way home I went to Moab and had a great time on the slickrock trails. The Chain Drive Rail totally killed the modded Jeeps that I met on the trail. One Heep driver said the only reason I made it up this gnarly rock staircase was because I blasted up it. And your point is? So, I turned around and rode back down to the bottom, then I did my best Heep imitation and crawled up to the top. He had no further comment after that.

In June of 2003 I decided to take the CDR to a jump contest. It was the first time I aired it out, and every landing was like Cloud 9. Those airbags and King shocks soaked up the landings like a biscuit and gravy. :D My first jump (at minute 2:30) was 82', and my second jump (at minute 3:05) was 95', which was the second longest jump that day. With some more suspension adjustment and a longer run at it, I could have easily gone over 100'.

This CD rail is now for sale, and I will be posting an ad on Woodsbuggy real soon.

Scott

I remember hearing Curt talk about you coming out to buy that rail and talking about you entering the long jump. You should enter it in the Dune Buggy Olympics this coming July 4th event in Ill. And bring it to Corinth Ms Jan 30-31.

The ad will be up real soon. I will include all the details that I have about it. First I think I have to set up a photo bucket account so I can link to pics of the Chain Drive Rail. Oh, and any abuse of this rail happened before I bought it. :)

I would like to attend some eastern events, but I can't afford it right now. I hope to visit Curt and Bernard again some time in the future.

Curt and I share a dislike for 4WDs in general, and I despise Jeeps, so I like the derogatory name of Heeps.

Here is a sequence of pics of the jump. Notice the 4WD Rolls Royce in the background. You don't see those every day! You can also see the distance markers every 10 feet.

My longest jump is 120' on a dirt bike. I hope to exceed that in a four wheel vehicle some day.

I have seen that Rolls parked in the pits at the SCORE race in Laughlin. That looks like a great time. I am very happy to see another member from California. Welcome!

The old guy that drives the Rolls is named Chuck Strange, so his screenname is Egnarts. Get it?
