I have a 3.4 alum head v6 that has auto transaxle out of fwd car. I have been contemplating build a 2 seat chain drive with a-arm front end. Wonder how trans would hold up with c/d? I also have a complete running 90-92 subaru Legacy 4dr with perfect interrior for sell. It runs great but something is binding in the trans once and a while--can drive! Got it from friend and was going to pull eng to put in buggy. I broke my wrist the next day!

What are you asking for the suby? It sounds like the trans has a bad ring and pinion, thats why I get them so cheap.

I dont think its the ring and pinion---it doesnt make any noise. I would take $500.00

The last one I got the trans sounded good until you held it to the floor and let off is when it made noise.

I told it is by a tranny shop here in Pa, the main reason is that the diff uses gearlube not atf and in never gets checked. As far as the gm trans axle, they are stout. The older ones without overdrive (gm125 i think) held up great to a 383 in my v8 fiero project. I was thinking of a 425 without overdrive out of a toranado would be a good auto trans. The parts are avalible to upgrade them to withstand the power and abuse.

I was told the older Toranado trans is a turbo 400 with a diff. Real strong set up, I have one just in case I want to build something sick with one of my old sprint car motors.
