Did you happen to get to ask Bill about an A-arm frontend for me? Is he on this site?

Hey Dean, I hear you are a crew chief for a jelly buggy,,something about sponsoring with parts,,, I guess you figure if you can't beat 'em you will join 'em,,,,just kidding,,,that is some of the best sportsmanship I have ever heard of..That makes me so glad to be a part of the Woodsbuggy.com family. Oh and I sure would appreciate it if you would carry some babychain parts in your buggy

When I rode hare scrambles on dirt bikes they had different classes for drivers instead of different classes of bikes
you could have Sportsman class and Pro class once you win in the Sportsman class you have to move up to Pro. This would help get new guys started knowing they have a chance.
As far as the buggys go it should be run what you brung . I like to see vw against w/c and chain drives .

i like the driver idea best so far - when you try to divide buggies by class to many feathers get ruffled - 2 classes , novice and pro --same hills-- if you win novice class say 2 times at different events you have to move up

I'm not picking and I wasn't there but that idea won't work. In every motor sport there are and need to be rules. The rules are made to keep things even and safe. In hare scrambles the control piont was the equipment, 80cc 125cc 250cc no mods ect, ect. The equipment kept most things even, the rest fell to the rider. What you are suggesting means it's ok to run sprint cars aginst pure stocks, indy cars with nascar or funnycars aginst weekend warriors. It's hard to beat a 1000lb single seater with a 200 hp mid-engine geared to run a set of huge tires that are bolted with a two seat battle tank like mine with 31" tires 100 hp and weighing near 1800 lbs. I don't have the answers but it would need to be baced on weight, engine displacement and tire size.

Mike, Well said and very true. With out some sort of class range its not a competition, its a bunch of guys and gals showing up to climb hills no more no less.

I agree there should be rules. My buggy isnt even finished yet and it will be a vw powered 4 seater but if I ever enter a climb I would want the rules to be as follows
Rule #1 enter at your own risk
Rule #2 have fun !!!!!
Rule #3 dont bitch if you get beat
Rule # 4 have more fun !!!!!
