It is that time of year again. The time that we all use to fix nagging little problems with our buggies or to completely redo them. What are your plans to get done before riding weather starts next year?

I plan on changing my steering system over to a rack and pinion system, maybe power if I get to feeling frisky. I also want to add front brakes. I've also got some plans to lighten my buggy up a little, we'll see if they happen or not...... If I can get a few houses sold I'd like to get a motor built but with the housing market in the state its in, it is not looking good for me.

I plan to beef up the babychains and make some spare rear slider sections,,also get the big engine on.

im gonna rebuild my front end with king kong spindles and nitrogen shocks and a new oversized front beam. the last time i was out riding, on the way home, i hit the cemet wall and totaled out my truck, bent my T trailer around, and bent the passenger front corner of my buggy pretty bad, so i don't have any choice, its a good thing i have all winter to do it.

Right,,like the spindle Dean gave Hwood..it will be easy to fab up and be kinda like a fusable link to prevent damage to the entire arm,,,,I'll get right on that

im going to try and get one more ride in then i to am going to redo some things like brake lines and wires to make them a little neter and pull my motor tear it down put a new set of total seals and play with the timeing.and see how things look inside and im thinking of powder coating my motor black or bright ass orange.and try to get it all back together by the new year i love to ride when its wet & nasty that way i can let the orange monster crank out................................

A broken clock is right two times a day.

Maybe I will re-do somethings on the new buggy after New Year's ride at the Cold Spot. I think I will try to do something with the transmission....maybe re-gear it for 2nd gear climbing and/or put in a bigger powerplant I will see about that.

CURRENT buggy is getting new 5 rib, and hoping to order a new predator frame one of the wide 2 seaters, hope to have it finished by spring 2010. I have everthing picked fro it but power plant just can't decide which way to go 2276 or w.c. and of course there is always the mater of paying for it. don't want to sell the one i have now i'm hoping to give it to my bother's son will be his first buggy. he'll be 17 by then going to give it to him as a gradution present. if mine is done in time.

I'm switching from a car tranny to a 5 rib. My motor was smoking a little, than on the last time we went out I fired a spark plug out of the head (it must have been due to the super high compression of that stock motor lol). So I'm building a 1915. Than if I have the free time and the overtime godz smile apon me, I may copy afterburnt's front suspension.

There is nothing wrong with it now...I just need more torque so I can climb in 2nd gear with the transmission I have now, if not, I will re-gear the transmission. Oh, it is a 2276cc

I'm gonna re-drill my valves, bore it out to a 1300, add some weight to my front end, get me some Autozone coilovers and get taller tires, maybe some Wilderness A/T's off a 4wd Explorer! Cant wait, gonna be awesome.

On drilling those valves do you really need to micro finish the holes or are the standard drilled holes ok?

With all the power you're gonna gain by going to the 1300 you may overpower those 'Zone coilovers. Get the ones from Advance with the "lifetime warranty" so you can return 'em.
