Winches? Does anybody run them on their rigs? And if so what weight range. A few guys around here have them. I know i've used my 3000# on my 4 wheeler to pull buggies out of small ditches.

i have the warn 4.0 and it has gotten me out of trouble many times. 4000lb pull or 8000lb with a snatch block. winch with cable adds 30lbs. wouldnt go riding without it.

I second that. 4000# is the minimum I would use. Even it will not pull you out a lot of situations with out the help of the Buggy Engine..

The little rubber cover on the brake pedal came off and my foot got stuck in the pedals. I went flying down a very steep/short hill and bashed a tree wearing only my lap belt. Had a disgruntled doctor that is getting tired of stitching up people from "haspin acres". He kept telling me to sell the buggy while giving me that botch stitch job using only 8 stitches.

The ole doc musta been really pissed. I could prolly do a better job than that. They used staples in my head when I bashed mine open.

Yes I was, She got me unstuck by sitting down and pushing the buggy's front-end up with her legs. I have to blame someone for my misfortune. :) She's a good sport, I blame everything on her and she blames everything on me.

  That sounds more like it Rock. Y'all like to do stuff!
No matter what rig you got, or how good you are, If you dont get stuck, jacked up on a hill, or on your lid every now and then , you aint doin' nothin'!!

As far as winches go, I personally dont like 'em on a rail, thats what friends,a strap, and a good tree are for!
