First & foremost this site is a great tool for me & just about everyone on it. I really appreciate the insight from everyone.

Now the delema I'm facing- I just purchased the Summit series coil(# sum-850500) & ignition box(both are made by & are exact replicas of a Mallory Hyfire 6 set up). The problem is the coil has a primary resistance of 0.500 ohms & of course it needs to be at least 3.2 ohms.
Now i noticed when i was riding with Bert, Dave & Okie in wellsville a few weeks ago Bert had the msd blaster ss coil & i failed to look at the wiring. Im running the new Hot Spark Bosch Distributor with the electronic set up already installed. My question is ......Is there such thing as a 3.000 ohm ballast resistor & or can i wire two 1.5 ohm resistors in series hence making the 3.0 ohms i need? Or should i just go back to my new bosch blue coil. Im just trying to get the best bang for my buck! Im running a 1915cc & dual weber 40's. I appreciate any & all help. Jamie aka buggyjunkie

There would be nothing wrong with putting two together to get the number you need. That would work.
Anything is better than trying to use that blue coil. I hate those things.

There are 2 blue coils.
One is a POS epoxy filled and the other is a decent piece, it's oil filled.
Those are around $30-35.
The cheap one is about $20, shy away from those.
