Mr Howard Kiley suffered a heart attack. Thanks to all those who helped with the CPR, thanks to Hillpilot,,he picked Mr Kiley out of his buggy . Mr Kiley was revived and breathing on his own and speaking before he was transported. I spoke to Tony "Wildpinto" his son and he said that Mr. KIley was med flighted to Vanderbilt to receive emergency surgery. PLease pray hard for him. The show did go on after word of Mr. Kiley being revived.it was tough but we all felt that we owed it to the crowd. Had things been worse , I am sure we all would have loaded up right then. Congrats to Chad " caustin" for first,,Chris Roberts for second,,John Summers for third , and I squeeked out a forth.

I spoke with Tony earlier this evening. Mr Kiley had 2 stints put in. He had severe blockage. The doctors said otherwise he had a strong heart. Mr Kiley will go home this week. We wish Mr Kiley a speedy recovery and want him to know how much we appreciate him. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

I'm glad Tony's dad is doing better. I'll keep him and his family in my prayers.

On a different note, Saturday night was a blast. How do I get my roll over sticker? My group loved it and we all be at the next events if any way possible. I want to see some video.

I was looking forward to the Cookeville event, but now I'll just have to look forward to the Corinth one. Everyone should go out to support and ride at these events if any way possible. They are lots of fun. I think the crowd loved seeing the buggies.

I'm not sure everyone understands the seriousness of Mr. Kiley's situation. Mr Kiley had to be shocked twice to restart his heart before he even got into the ambulance. And again in the ambulance. The AED was used by the medics. The Woodsbuggy guys performed CPR to keep his blood circulated until his heart was restarted. What could have been depressing and devestating , ended with celebration of Mr. Kiley's survival. I for one know Mr. Kiley as one of our best friends and a man with genuine compassion for everyone he meets.

Glad to hear Mr Kiley is doing good that was a very tense moment also that was someone else that helped him out so the thanks goes to them, Im sure he will be back in the seat in no time.
Well that was my first arena race and it was a ball I plan on doing it again I hope somebody got some pictures and video some of them got some good air and then those 2 no driving fools that turned over.
Is it possible to get the lap times instead of the total time I am courious how that came out, I was told that was how they judged it in the other races
Look out Firebug I am coming after you , put my thinking cap on Sunday evening looking at some changes
(training wheels)

Excuse me for not getting that right on who plucked Mr. Kiley out,,,whoever it was ,,,I hope to stay on his good side..He is strong as an ox. I PM'd Mr. Paul about times,,it may take a day or two rounding them up I suppose. I am anxious to see some vids too. I am heart broke that Cookville is cancelled but it is totally understandable. We will have to make it up at the next event. Those with ideas on how to do these things need to contribute your suggestions. What about a Woodsbuggy Olympics?,,Yall know I'm eat up with this stuff

I just moved this topic , it seems nobody was reading it in upcoming events where it was under the Shelbyville show.

I just spoke to Tony,,he said his dad has been up walking all over the floor..He gave himself a shower and got his manhood back and pee'd standing up. I am so relieved. Mr. Kiley is sore on his leg where the docs went in to go up to his heart to put the stints in. His arms are sore where we pulled him out of the buggy. I asked if his chest was sore from where the medics hit it with his fist to start his heart in the ambulance and he said no but he is sore every where else where we pulled him out of the buggy. Tony said the phone has rang off the hook from well wishers . He still gets a little upset talking about it too. I told him we loved him and will check back tomorrow..

Marty, would you happen to know of an address that we could send get-well cards to?

Wildpinto's wife here! We would like to thank everyone for helping out Howard on Saturday night. If it had not been for everyone there and the AED machine Howard would not be here today. Earlier that day Howard was not feeling well and the physicians said that he actually had a small heart attack then but he had mistaken it for heart burn. After Howard got into his buggy and began the race the adreneline was flowing and caused the massive heart attack. The medics, or someone, had already started chest compressions on him prior to removing him from the buggy. The woodsbuggy.com family and the medics were all there and along with Tony's temper got Howard out of the buggy and onto the ground. His heart had already stopped at this point. The medics did chest compressions until the AED machine was hooked up. After having to shock his heart 3 or 4 times he finally became responsive. Jordan, my son, after seeing all of this first hand thinks that everyone can be brought back from the dead and doesn't know why they can't just do this to everyone and no one would have to die. Try explaining that to an 8 year old! Howard was immediatelly send by ambulance to the local Shelbyville, TN hospital in order to stabalize him for life flight. Although it was not easy for the gentlemen in the ambulance after Howard became responsive and realized that there were a bunch of strange men over him. And of course, no help to Tony and his temper. Tony shows his emotions differently that everyone else, I'm sure. He apologizes if he offended anyone during this time but this was a difficult thing for him to have to go through.

He was then flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN where he underwent emergency surgery for the 100% blockage in his right coronary artery. My son said the helicopter looked like it had a halo around it as it took off with Pops in it. By the time Tony made it to the hospital the surgery had been completed. He made it through the surgery with no complications. He was then placed in the CVICU unit. By Sunday Howard was feeling fine except for the pain in his leg. He was able to get out of the bed and walk laps around the hospital unit. And of course the joy of standing up and peeing again. The physicians said we should look for signs of brain damage because of the amount of time he was in v-tack but after seeing him in the hospital room flirting with the cute blonde nurse, I know he is fine. Tony was able to bring him home today and Howard is resting comfortablly at home.

A special thanks to Donald Hogeland (PawPaw) and Donnie Hogeland for letting me acompany them to Tennessee, as they were nice enough to pick up the buggies from the arena where they were left. As well as driving me on to Nashville to be with Tony and Howard. Even though they dropped me off at the wrong hospital and left me and my daughter to walk to Vanderbilt (a couple of blocks) at 3:30am in 30 degree weather. It was appreciated, though. We are fortunate enough to have friends in the sport that are willing to step up when they are needed. Thanks to all of our friends at woodsbuggy and beyond. All of the prayers are appreciated and are greatly needed.

P.S. Pops says he will be ready for Curts hillclimb coming at Thanksgiving. Watch out for him, the doctors say he will be better than he has ever been before. He says his heart feels like he has nitro flowing through it now.

Howard Kiley
609 6th Street Robinwood
Birmingham, Al 35217

Thanks
Tony and Angie Kiley
