I heard yay and nay. Wanted to get some opinions. I have tubes in my front tires but none in the back right now. Just curious what everybody else was running and why. Can you plug a tire with a tube in?

Yes but you will need to put a valve stem in it.

now I am going to have top go with personal preference on tubes. I have always ran them, and had good success. I've had lots of tire probs latley too. I'm up in the air right now :|

btrs bedlocks, no tubes, I got a slime spair kit with slime an plugs if needed. No slime or problems yet. If it gets serious i would go with slimed tubes.

I have used tubes in the rear most of the time untill recently. Now I use Tubes in the front and none in the back with beadlocks and will never go back. Because your running a lot lower pressure in the rears when you hit a rock and knock the bead off (and you will) it rips the tube stem out. Granted at that point you can stuff a tubless tire stem in and move on. Been there done that many times.

I would agree with the King of flats, Odieknuck. I have tubes in the front because the wheels are not beadlocks.
No tubes in the rear because the wheels are beadlock. Should I end up with a set of front beadlock wheels, the tubes go.

No tubes front or rear. I do carry a battery powered air compressor and a can of ether for popping beads back on though......

My problem with tubes is that it is so hard to buy a good one at any price anymore. They are thin as paper and the seams split if they swell any at all past being just full enough to be round.

Tubes tubes and more tubes. I run them front and back. I use beadlocks in the back I have hit rocks and bent rims more times than I care to remember. Never had to load it on the trailer. I keep right on riding and fix it when I get home. The tubes in my wheels are old at least 5 years. I roll and wreck frequently. I run my front tires at 8 psi and the back tires at 3.5 - 2.5 psi when climbing. I really can't see what the problem is with tubes. Tubes run 'em, love 'em.
That is just my never to be humble opinion.
Dean

I run tube in both front and rear tires, the rear wheels are beadlocks and the front ones are not. I started out running the rear tires without tubes and aired them down to 3 psi once and the inner bead popped off and I had to put about 7 psi back in them just to keep them on and 7 is too much pressure. I put tubes in them later and can run them almost flat (1.5 psi) and the inner beads will stay on. Front ones is the same way, I think the tubes kinda acts like inner beadlocks to help keep the tire beads seated against the rims whether you run beadlocks or not. I think you should run tubes in all 4 tires just to be better safe than sorry...I have seen Dean Marks bent his front wheel so bad, the tube in it was sticking out and he just kept on running like that with no problems. I also think that people should at least run beadlocks in the rear is because when you run air pressure so low the locks on the rims will keep your tires in one spot so you can't spin them off due to the low pressure that can't keep them on the first place. Just my $0.02 8)

Depends on how wide your wheels are and tires too. Mine is 15x14 Weld wheels and 33x14x15 boggers, they will be fine on 10-12" wide wheels, but not on 14-inch wide wheels, also depends on what kind of driving you do, if you like to take off like dumping the clutch hard and get them wheels spinning fast....I think you should run beadlocks so the tires won't spin off of the beads, maybe some people have good luck like that, but like I said, better safe than sorry. If you are running 31x15.50x15 flotation tires on 15x14 wheels, that is O.K. because the tires call for a 14-inch wide wheel and the beads will seat a lot better.
