I finally got a set up I like on my buggy ,,,just in time to swap engines...I am running a suby 2.2 with KEP Stage 2 PP with 6 puck and it is the best combination I have tried yet..Question is with the bigger engine ( 3.3 suby, 230 hp, 228 torque) will this set up be about right too? What are you guys with the big VW or V6 engines running for PP and disc It may have been covered but I can't find it.

u probaly will have to go to a bigger pressure plate,but that 6 puck will hold up to anything

Those 6 pucks are the shiznit! 3.3 ltrs? I'd say a stage 4.

I read an article that said Kennedy has been overrating the holding force of their pressure plates for years. Something about they switched from modifying VW plates to making it 100% themselves some years back, and they havent been what they originally said they were since then. Thats why you need the stage 4's on 2500s. We arent really getting the 3400 psi, or whatever they advertise it as.

I dont know if its true or not, but I do know clutch slippage is a nonfactor on a 2500 w/ a stage 4 and stock disc, the 6 puck on a stage 4 ought to be total lock down.

I got a stage 4 on ebay for about half the price of a new one. But I had just about decided to go with a stage 3. Anybody thinkd I will be OK with the stage 4 or should I trade for a stage 3? I still run cable clutch and intend on using the 6 puck.

Bruce's and several others are stage 4 w/ a cable clutch. As long as it is as straigth a shot as you can make it for the cable, and its heavy duty. Should be ok. Chuck extended the length of Bruces clutch pedal arm and his cable is a straight shot to the release arm, and you can literally push his clutch down with your hand. Its much easier than my hydro clutch, with same p.p.
