I have a few more details on the race. The race will now be 1 Hour because of you old folks (that includes me). Helments, Goggles, long sleeve shirt and a side net is required for driver and/or passenger. Gary says for the net(s) we can use the orange plastic snow fence with tie wraps or rope to hold it on. So far 5 of us are going that ride Wellsville. So come on guys lets have some fun, DVs,Steve, Madmike, Dean, Hillaholic, Jegg, Greg?[/quote

just got back from the race,it started out well with me,buggyb (brian) and odyknuck in 1st,2nd,3rd. ody had tire problems then d.n.f.ed. me and brian battled back and forth for first. unfortunatly my radiator leaked and i ended up baking a motor. brian took 1st overall. despite the problems it was a great time and i would definitely do it again . i'll post pics later.

(note to self:install large dummy light with new motor)

Sounds like a good time. Maybe i can make it next year. How hot was the motor? Is it ok? What caused the leak? Sorry so many questions, just want to learn from some of our problems. You know since we only been running subys for a couple of years compared to ac motors.

radiator mounts were good enough for wellsville, not good enough to race. to many hard hits caused the lower brackets to fail which took out the core. me not paying attention to the temp gauge is why the engine fried, when i did realize, it was at 350deg and way to late. motor still cranks but the oil smells like r2d2 took a shit.

I think your right about the idiot light, I never noticed the the temp when my upper hose came off. Being that we sit in front of rad we cant smell the coolant until its to late. I talked to a guy about welding an bungs to the rad and upper hose barb to run an lines instead of hose clamps. Thats what came loose on mine. Do you think it took out the head gaskets? I hope it isnt to bad. keep us posted.

So, did it get you hooked? That was about all it took for me, and I was ready to build my first race car :D I would have loved to be there, but I had a family member pass, and a funeral. I will try to make one next year!

always have been hooked on enduro/harescrambles with a dirtbike, now i can add buggys. been tossing around the idea of a single seat subi project. for right now i will pay the stupid tax, lick my wounds and put my existing buggy back together. just ordered a jdm motor and a new radiator today. odyknuck is paying some stupid tax to, he had more problems then i knew about.

I actually got "T" boned by a pick up truck. They raced both the trucks and Buggys at the same time. I really thought it was a bad decision on the sponcers part however I was there and I raced any way. Trust me when i say trucks are heavyer than a Buggy! He lifted me up on 2 wheels. I was cooking along at a good click running about 8# of boost at the time. Story has it the Buggys were not on the track and the truck was! Personally I dont think he wanted me to pass him. When I was passing him the next thing I know hes turning right into me and the rest is history. We straighten the frame and made a tree bar patch. I still have to paint it yet.

Motor looks fried!! We had a sweet race last weekend! 17 buggies in my class!... and some big names. For the short course heat races, I finished 1st, 2nd, and 5th, giving me a first over-all, and sunday we had the "200k" enduro. Somehow I managed to pull a first over-all again!! The buggy gods must be pleased with me
